About Us

The Insurance Lab, a division of BrokerUnion Inc., is a growing insurance brokerage serving personal and commercial insurance clients across Ontario.

With access to a broad network of insurance markets, we provide tailored insurance solutions to businesses across various industries.

We are looking for an experienced, sales-driven Commercial Account Manager who can turn opportunities into new business, develop strong client relationships, and help grow our commercial insurance portfolio.

About the Role

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with clients, following up on opportunities, closing business, and building long-term relationships.

You will manage existing commercial accounts while actively converting incoming commercial leads into bound policies.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Conversion: Manage incoming commercial insurance leads, prepare quotations, follow up consistently, and convert opportunities into new business.

Account Management: Maintain and grow an assigned portfolio of commercial insurance clients.

Renewals & Retention: Proactively manage commercial renewals, review coverage needs, and maintain strong client retention.

Business Development: Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts through cross-selling and additional coverage solutions.

Market Negotiations: Work directly with underwriters and insurance companies to obtain competitive terms and appropriate coverage.

Client Relationships: Build lasting relationships with business owners through proactive communication and professional advice.

Policy Management: Handle endorsements, renewals, documentation, and other account-related activities.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with producers and internal support staff to ensure timely quotations, binding, and policy servicing.

Qualifications

* Minimum 2 years of experience in a Canadian insurance brokerage, preferably with commercial lines experience.* Valid R

IBO licence.* Strong

understanding of commercial insurance products, coverage, and underwriting requirements.* Proven

ability to manage client relationships and convert quotations into sales.* Strong

follow-up, negotiation, and closing skills.* Excelle

nt communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.* Experie

nce using brokerage management systems.* Ability

to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.* Must be

able to commute to our Whitby office regularly.

What We Offer

* Competitive base salary plus commission based on performance.

* Access to a wide range of insurance markets.

* Incoming commercial leads and opportunities to grow an existing portfolio.

* Hybrid working arrangement with regular office attendance in Whitby.

* Supportive and collaborative team environment.

* Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.

* The opportunity to play an important role in growing our commercial insurance division.

Who We’re Looking For

An experienced insurance professional who combines strong commercial insurance knowledge with a sales-oriented mindset.

Someone who doesn’t just prepare quotes but follows through, builds relationships, closes opportunities, and takes ownership of their accounts.

If you’re ready to grow your commercial insurance career with a growing brokerage, we’d love to hear from you.
